Funded by the Changing Water Cycle Programme, this project aimed to investigate the extent to which extensive large scale land use change and groundwater depletion in the Ganga Basin, has fed back to hydrology and climate systems on a basin scale

Funded through the Changing Water Cycle, this project aimed to progress the understanding on what affects the South Asian monsoon at different time scales

Funded through the Changing Water Cycle Programme, this project aimed to examine causes of extreme rainfall events, whether their particular characteristics are fully captured by flood models, whether the effects can be moderated by forests, and the implications for rainfall-driven carbon transport. 

Funded through the Changing Water Cycle, this project aimed to understand the geological framework of the aquifer system in northwestern India, the ages of the groundwaters within it, and the ways in which groundwater levels are likely to evolve over the next 50 years

Funded through the NERC-MoES Changing Water Cycle (CWC) programme, MICCI aimed to further the understanding of impacts & uncertainities of climate change on variabilities in irrigation water and to proffer solutions that are robust and effective for Indian irrigators. 

Led by UKRI's NERC and the Engineering & Physcial Science Research Council (EPSRC) and India's Department of Science & Technology (DST), this programme supports research focused on improving water quality by providing a better understanding of the sources and fate of different pollutants and by supporting the development of management strategies and technologies to reduce pollution levels.

This interdisciplinary project aimed to deliver a low cost decentralised wastewater treatment and recycling system in India that moves towards a closed loop system, recovers resources, improves sanitation, improves public health, builds social capacity and safeguards the environment.  

A UKRI NERC funded project under the SUNRISE programme aimed at providing soil moisture real-time monitoring across India, helping improve livelihoods of farmers and moving towards sustainable water resource management. cosmos-india
