A three day workshop of Indian and UK scientists is being held at the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun hosted by the India-UK Water Centre (IUKWC). Experts from both countries will present the latest research findings and discuss ways of improving future of water security within the Indian Himalayas through integrating precipitation forecasts and climate predictions with basin-scale hydrological modelling.

The India-UK Water Centre is calling for volunteers from its Open Network of Water Scientists to help support the design and implementation of its first Grassroots Field Exposure Sessions (GFES).

A three day India-UK Water Centre (IUKWC) event held in Kochi between 23rd and 25th January 2018 brought together leading water scientists from the UK and India with state level water policy and management bodies from six southern States. The event was the first in the Centre's planned series of User Engagement Initiatives which are designed to bring together scientists with policy makers, regulators and commercial companies to support the communication of joint India-UK water security science to users.

The IUKWC's Researcher Exchange Schemes provide opportunities for Indian experts to visit the UK or UK experts to visit India in order to spend time exploring research ideas, building capacity or training in research methods, or exchanging latest findings. The first round of Exchanges were undertaken in the Spring of 2017 and the first Activity Report is now available.

IUKWC, under its Pump priming project initiative, recently funded a project on "Stakeholder engagement in hydro-climatic services in India". The project is led by IUKWC member Dr. Zareen Bharucha of the Global Sustainability Institute at Anglia Ruskin University in the UK, and aims to review current practices, challenges and future opportunities relating to the development of hydro-climatic services (HCS). A participatory workshop with HCS developers was held at IITM, Pune on 14th & 15th September 2017.
